Evergreen conifer tree with a fast growth rate. Pyramidal form with spreading, sweeping branches. May lose nice form when older. Makes a good Christmas tree.

Culture: Works well in large, open landscapes. Grows best in moist, acidic, well-drained, sandy soil but will tolerate slightly less-ideal conditions. Prefers humid climates and needs a lot of watering in its establishment period. Tolerates heat better than most spruces but needs a cold winter. Prune in early spring.
