Product Description

Sorbus Americana

American mountain ash, American rowan tree, roundwood

 

Deciduous tree with a moderate growth rate. Open form with multiple trunks. Branches are thin and spreading.

 

Zones:  2 - 7     Native to: Eastern North America     Size:10-30' tall by 6-12' wide

 

Leaves:  color: dark green     fall color: Yellow, Red,Orange     size: 6-8"

 

Flowers:  color: white (showy)     season: Late Spring     size: 3-5"

 

Uses:  landscaping, bird habitat, animal habitat

 

Culture: Grows naturally in northern wetlands. Prefers damp, acidic soil. Will not grow well on dry soils. .

 

Tolerances:  Flooding, wet soil, acidic soil
